The Demon baseball team was hosting Danville for a doubleheader and had a gut check early in the first game. The Demons were down big early 8-0 but Head Coach Nathan Miller says he challenged his team come out and chip away and they came back to win. Colton Covington had his first career home run as part of the comeback. The Demons were down 9-7 heading into the bottom of the seventh and a Kaleb Rich triple brought in two runs to tie it and Rich would score the winning run on a wild pitch.

The Demons won big in the second game 17-2. In that one the Demons drew five walks and had 14 hits. Anthony Ossman, Brad Weatherman, Jordan Gier, Collin Steele, and Colton Covington each had doubles. Gier had three rbi’s. The Demons now look to avenge their only conference loss when they host Mount Pleasant in a doubleheader that could decide the conference title. Heading in Miller likes that their arms should be fresh with several of their pitchers available tonight. The Demons split with Mount Pleasant down there early this season with the Panthers winning the first 3-0 and Washington winning the second 7-5. You’ll be able to hear the first game of tonight’s doubleheader right here on the one to count on KCII. We’ll be on the air at 5:30.
