The Washington Demon softball team kicks off postseason play this evening hosting the Williamsburg Raiders. The Demons split with the Raiders in their regular season finale earlier this week. Washington won the first one in extra innings 8-4 and the Raiders took the second game 7-4. The two teams faced each other to open the postseason last year and the Demons won a close one in Washington 2-0. Washington would go to the Regional Final coming one game away from the state tournament. Demon Head Coach Angie Shrader as they head into tonight’s game, one thing they can take from Tuesday’s doubleheader was they got to see all of the Raiders pitchers. The Demons are 26-9 heading in and Williamsburg has a similar record. The first pitch is set for 7-pm and you’ll be able to hear the game right here on KCII. The winner of tonight’s game plays the winner of Mount Pleasant and Fort Madison. Those two teams are playing in Fort Madison. On the other side of the bracket in this regional, Pella plays Centerville, and Keokuk hosts Fairfield.
