In softball, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks knocked off the third ranked team in the state to reach the Regional Final. The Hawks were at Wilton last night facing the Wilton Beavers. It was scoreless going into the top of the third when Emmy Leinin led off with a base hit and then on a bunt by Kaitlin Kaalberg, there was a throwing error to first and a throwing error by the right fielder to third allowed Leinin to score and that would be the only run of the game as Mid-Prairie won 1-0. Golden Hawk pitcher Olivia Lugar held Wilton to three hits. Now the Golden Hawks will face Pekin for the right to go to state. The teams will play here in Washington tonight and you’ll be able to hear the game right here on the one to count on KCII, we’ll be on the air around 7-pm.

Also last night in 3A, Keokuk beat Pella 1-0 so they will meet Fort Madison in Keokuk tonight for the right to go to state.
