The Washington County Conversation Board says it’s hosting a Hunter Safety Class August 3rd through the 7th at its Education Center in Marr Park. Iowa State law requires anyone born after January 1st, 1967 to complete a hunter safety course before obtaining a permit, and this is the Conservation Board’s only spring class. You must be 11 or older to attend, but the certification of completion is not valid until your 12th birthday. Participants are asked to bring a writing utensil and their social security card. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online at IowaDNR.gov or by calling the Washington County Conservation Center at 319.461.0341.
