A contract for repairs to Washington County’s McCreedy Building, which houses the county’s assessor and engineer, has been approved without bidding in order to begin work as soon as possible.  The Washington County Board of Supervisors accepted County Engineer David Patterson’s recommendation to award a $27,000, no-bid contract to Larry Yoder Masonry, a move he says will save the county money and prevent further damage.  Patterson told county supervisors Yoder was the best contractor for the work and his $27,000 estimate was fair.  Work will begin immediately to prevent more summer rainfall from causing additional damage to the McCreedy Building.
