The Odessa Wildlife Complex east of Wapello is being threatened because of fast water rising in the Mississippi River. The Department of Natural Resources says under current river predictions, water will start flowing into Odessa through the lower spillway today. The DNR says a rise of 6 to 8 feet is possible over the next following days. They anticipate the flooding will cause parking lots and boat ramps to become inaccessible.
