Washington County Supervisor Jim Rosien says he’s working on a contract to remove unused jail cells from the Washington County Safety Center. Rosien says an offer has been made to provide free labor in exchange for the metal, which then can be sold for scrap.  In Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Sheriff Jerry Dunbar did not object to the plan, but asked that a section of the old jail cells be kept for historical purposes.  In January of 2008, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department left the County Safety Center and moved to a new location west of Washington.
