Iowa Has $300 Million Fiscal Surplus

Washington County State Senator Larry Marek says Iowa has finished the fiscal year with over $300 million dollars in surplus, a sign he says proves his and other lawmakers efforts to “grow [the] economy and balance the budget without raising taxes” are having a positive impact.

Verda Mae Asbury

Funeral services for 85 year old Verda Mae Asbury of Washington will be held Saturday, July 10 at 2 p.m. at Jones-Eden Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation begins at noon on Friday, July 9 with family visitation from 6 to 8 that evening (7/9). A memorial has been established to Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
