Washington County Fair Schedule Today

The Washington County Fair continues in Washington.  Events for the day include 4-H and FFA livestock weigh in and check ins, open class exhibit entries, 4-H and FFA livestock shows, goat show, poultry show followed by a dog agility show.  For complete list of scheduled events and times visit the Washington County Extension website.  Stay tuned to KCII for live fair updates throughout the afternoon and all week long.

Washington County Hospital To Receive Money To Enhance Emergency Communications, Planning

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the Iowa Department of Public Health more than $4 million to enhance hospital and community response to health emergencies across the state.

Antique Roadshow at Fair

The Washington County Historic Preservation Commission is hosting an “Antique Roadshow” at the Fair on Friday.  Interested persons are invited to bring one or two items for the show.  Well informed panelists will be present to help identify and discuss the treasures shown.  Values will not be determined.  There is a three dollar charge.  All are welcome to attend.  The event is this Friday from 5 to 7pm at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

British Petroleum in Southeast Iowa

British Petroleum’s ongoing accident has been declared the largest oil spill to ever occur in the Gulf of Mexico, but in southeast Iowa, the only BP logos you’ll see are convenience stores operated by community members.

Domestic Abuse Firearm Legislation Is Retroactive
