Construction is complete at City Hall in Kalona. The city made renovations to the Community Center where City Hall is located, turning the old preschool part of the building into new rooms giving them more space. City Clerk Karen Christner says the construction began in March. She says the cost for the improvements including furniture and electrical work cost just over $73,000. Christner says the city clerk area was enlarged, an office work area with computers was added, as well as a large meeting room. She says the work space gives them room to move and be more efficient, and encourages community members to come see the new improvements.
