More than an inch of rain fell during the first full day of the Washington County Fair, turning parking areas and walking paths into fields of mud yesterday. The first big event of the week, the Tractor Pull, has been postponed to Saturday night at 6:30 with Monday tickets being honored for the rescheduled time. Washington County Fair Board President Jerome Vittetoe says rain this week means less revenue at the fair, but the board will try to reschedule events while fairgoers are still in town. Events today at the fair include sheep, horse, rabbit and flower arrangement shows before noon and bubble gum, frog jumping, Oreo stacking, and kid’s pie eating contests later in the day. Tonight’s big entertainment is a Grandstand Rodeo at 7:30.
