Washington County Democrats and Republicans had booths at last month’s county fair, as well as “Free County”, an anti-zoning group. Free County said in a news release that it used opportunity to speak with Washington County residents in an effort to replace county supervisors that voted for a zoning ordinance that went into effect July 1st.  Group co-chair James Graham says he was surprised by the number of people he spoke with who didn’t understand how the new zoning ordinance worked, or that it even had passed.  Free County says it plans to meet in various community venues on the first Monday of every month.  Washington County Supervisor Jim Miksch says he believes zoning will help business development in the county, and won’t affect the majority of residents.
