The Washington ASA 10 and under softball team won a weekend tournament in Burlington. The A’s played in the nine team tournament which featured three games on Saturday to determine seeding for an elimination tournament on Sunday. Washington was seeded third going into Sunday. They beat a team from Carthage, IL, a team from Muscatine, and Burlington. In the championship game against Burlington, the A’s were up 6-1 going into the bottom of the fourth and scored five runs to win 11-1 by the mercy rule. Brenna Wideman had two triples in the tournament and Maddie Henrickson and Jessie Bucholtz pitched.
