The City of Wellman was hit hard by heavy rainfall last week and significant damage was reported due to flash flooding. The Grant Wood Area Chapter of the Red Cross provided two shipments of clean up kits for flood-affected residents of Wellman to use. Wellman City Hall has reported that they had received approximately 30 kits, and as of Wednesday, seven remained. Residents can still pick those up at city hall on weekdays during regular business hours from 8 to 5. Wellman residents are also asked to report damage to property caused by last week’s flooding to the city at 319-646-2154.
