This is also the first day for volleyball teams to begin practices. The Demon volleyball team also had a team camp last week and took part in a pre-season tournament that Head Coach Jeff Spenner says was more like controlled scrimmages. Heading into this season Spenner expects quite a bit of competition for playing spots. He says they have only one returning starter and he could see twenty-one girls competing for those open spots. The Demons open the volleyball season at a tournament in Wapello September 4th.
