A reverse punt return and an offensive penalty in the end zone were key in a hard fought Demon win over the sixth ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks. In Wellman, both teams scored touchdowns on their opening drives and would then force each other to put a couple of times. Midway through the second quarter the Demons on a punt return ran a reverse to Parker Turner who took it 65 yards to the end zone to give the Demons a 14-7 lead and that would be the score at halftime. Mid-Prairie came out in the second half and used two lengthy drives to get a 40 yard and 39 yard field goal from freshman kicker Austin Errthum. The Demons responded with a touchdown drive that was capped off by Parker Turner. Late in the 4th quarter down 21-13 the Golden Hawks had it at the Demons 5 yard line on third and goal but an offensive pass interference took away a touchdown reception to Michael Aldeman from Jaemin Powell and back the Hawks up plus was a loss of down which made it fourth down. The Demons came up with the fourth down stop and get the 21-13 win. Washington quarterback Jake Redlinger had five carries for 62-yards, Tyler Jaspering had 11-carries for 62 yards and a touchdown and Parker Turner went 18 carrires 47 yards and a touchdown. Mid-Prairie’s Brody Barthelman finished with 22-105 yards and a touchdown.
