The AP has released the Pre-Season Iowa Prep Football Rankings. In Class 3A, defending state champs, Harlan is at the top. Two teams in the Demons district are right up there as well. First, Solon who moves up to 3A after winning the 2A title the last three years is ranked number two in the state. Williamsburg, who has been in the Demons’ district the last two years and will be the next two years in ranked number third. There are two teams in the Demons’ neighboring district, which matches up with Washington’s district in the post season, those are Mount Pleasant at number five and Pella at number six. The Fairfield Trojans received votes to be included but didn’t make it. In 2A, Iowa City Regina is at the top. The Regals have had to play in Solon’s district the last two years and lost to them in the quarterfinals. Mid-Prairie is ranked sixth along with State Center West Marshall.
