The Highland Huskies are getting ready for the upcoming football season, and for the Huskies they will be playing a class up. Highland had been in Class A since they split with Lone Tree in 2006, with reclassification and redistricting they were moved up to Class 1A. Second year Head Coach Tony Johnson says the biggest hurdle for them will be depth. He says playing in 1A they will face many schools that are bigger and have more depth. Johnson says they have 35 kids out and he’s been pleased with the work they’ve done in these early practices. The biggest improvement he’d like to see is the kids confidence when they are on the field. Highland opens on the road against rival Lone Tree.
