Five students from Iowa Mennonite School spent part of their summer learning about Polish life and culture as part of the U.S-Poland Parliamentary Youth Exchange Leadership Program, a program funded by the US State Department. Amanda Bartel, Taylor Fulton, Gretchen Geyer, Aliese Gingerich, Jess Miller, and IMS teacher Marcus Miller spent June in Lodz, a Polish City of 800,000 people.  Students lived with host families, attended classes visited historical sites, and met the Mayor and several of her deputies.  Aliese Gingerich says the trip widened her “global awareness” and strongly encourages everyone to travel outside of their home country.
