Beef producers are invited to attend a pasture walk, scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, at the Larry Klein farm located 6 miles southeast of Sigourney in Lancaster. Speakers slated for the seminar include Dr. Steve Barnhart, ISU Professor of Agronomy Forages, and Mark Carlton, ISU Field Agronomist. Topics to be presented include Forage specie identification, what’s next for new seeding failures, introduction of legumes, paddock system layout, and importance of water and animal flow in rotational systems. The pasture walk begins at 6:00 p.m. and will include a meal. Attendees should RSVP by calling the Keokuk County Extension Office by Friday, September 3rd.
