A new ticketing system has allowed the Washington County Fair Board to keep track of this year’s fair entry. Fair Board Vice President Don Lewis says officially about 10,500 tickets were sold, adding that the total doesn’t account for exhibitors, anyone under 12, and before and after tickets were taken each day, making the actual amount of Washington County Fair goers higher. Lewis says despite rain and hot weather, and even some night entertainment cancellations, Washington County’s fair was well attended compared to other rural county fairs in the state. During a Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting last month supervisors Miksch and Rosien both voiced support and satisfaction for this year’s fair. County auditor Bill Fredrick said the fair had made “great progress over the last 5 years”.
