The Des Moines Register has released their pre-season football poll and two teams in the Demon district are included. In Class 3A, The Register has the defending state champs Harlan at number one, Mount Pleasant, who went 5-4 last season, is ranked number two in the state. You might think that was one of the teams in the Demons’ district ranked, well for the first time the Demons and the Panthers are not in the same district. So who are the two teams? Williamsburg, who is ranked fourth, and Solon, winning the title the last three years in 2A and moving up to 3A, is ranked seventh.

In Class 2A, Mid-Prairie, the Demons opponent to open the season, is ranked seventh. Davis County, who is in Mid-Prairie and Sigourney-Keota’s district is ranked ninth.
