KCII reported yesterday morning that Alliant Energy reported power outages to 2,500 customers in Riverside, Kalona and Richmond. Alliant spokesman Ryan Stensland told KCII lightning struck a transmission pole between Riverside and Kalona around 5:34 am yesterday, but crews were able to restore power to all affected customers about two hours later at 7:15.  For questions regarding the power outage, call Alliant Energy at 1.800.ALLIANT (1.800.255.4268).
