Repair work on railroad ties will cause the closure of portions of a few roads in Washington this week. J.J. Bell, Superintendent of the Maintenance and Construction Department for Washington says portions of C and D Avenue, as well as West Main will be closed for about a week for the railroad tie repairs. The roads will be only open to home owners on these streets. Bell says repairs on Iowa Avenue had already begun and should be finished and opened today.
