A zoning variance has been requested by Dave and Jessica Waite to build a home south of Washington. Zoning Administrator Steve Lafaurie says the home would be built on a subdivision already approved by the city, but zoning requires a “200 foot setback” from agricultural operations, placing the home on a downhill area that “doesn’t make a lot of sense”. The plot of land is located northwest of the intersection of 265th Street and Wayland road, approximately a half mile south of Washington. A decision on the variance request will be made during a public hearing of the Washington County Board of Adjustment at 7 pm on Thursday at the Washington County Courthouse.
