High water levels from heavy rainfall have left the south side of Wellman underwater.  A trained weather spotter in Wellman notified KCII that they received over four inches of rainfall Monday night through Tuesday morning.  The Washington County Safety Center received a call from a family trapped inside their home from high water levels at 2:31 Tuesday morning.  Wellman Firefighter Zach Cornwell says the Fire Department as well as County Deputies responded to the scene at 111 10th Avenue by boat and brought the family with four children to dry land.  Cornwell also stated that the fire department had two feet of standing water in the station.  He says major damage is expected as a result. Assistant Communications Supervisor Teresa Todd says anyone coming upon water across the roadway should not drive through it, turn around and take an alternate route.
