The Washington Farmer’s Market “Taster’s Choice Salsa Contest” winners have been announced. Washington City Councilman Bob Shepherd runs both the contest and farmer’s market. He says this is the 12th consecutive year the contest has been offered, and this year’s winners represent new contestants as well as returning winners. Ribbons were awarded for most 1st place votes, most second place votes and most overall votes. Sheryll Miller’s “black and bean corn salsa” received the most 1st place votes. Weather permitting, Shepherd says he hopes to continue the Thursday Farmer’s Market every Thursday evening through October.
