The Washington Demon volleyball team had a rough start to their season playing at the Wapello tournament on Saturday. Head Coach Jeff Spenner says they played in a pretty tough pool, with Holy Trinity, Wilton and West Burlington. Right out of the gate the Demons played 1A second ranked Holy Trinity. Spenner says they played Holy Trinity tough staying right with them in one of the games. On the day the Demons ended up losing all of their matches. Wilton won the tournament. Spenner says he can’t really pinpoint anything they did really well or really bad. He says at times they would just struggle a little bit. The Demons will practice today and open conference play hosting Mount Pleasant tomorrow.
