Construction work on a bridge approach on U.S. 218 1.1 miles north of the Henry County line over the East Fork Crooked Creek Bridge is set to start tomorrow. The project will cause the roadway to be reduced to one lane with an 11-foot width lane restriction in the northbound lanes beginning tomorrow and lasting until Friday, Oct. 22, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Mount Pleasant construction office. The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area. Peterson Contractors, Inc. is in charge of this $416,864 project.
