State Representative Larry Marek held two forums in Washington Tuesday. At the Halcyon House, Marek spoke with a dozen residents about multiple topics including the Iowa Egg Recall, positive signs of Iowa’s improving economy, and a wind farm he says could be built north of Washington.  Marek said he was told preliminary testing could begin in November, and construction on the wind farm could begin as soon as next year.  He said the 40,000 acre, 300 turbine project would bring construction and sustainable jobs to the area, and also generate $3 to $4 million dollars to the county each year in property taxes.
