More than 180 people attended this year’s Washington County Farm Bureau meeting. The group met Thursday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Washington to share a meal, hold elections, and hear messages from Farm Bureau representatives.  All elections were uncontested, and John Berdo was re-elected as Washington County Farm Bureau President.  Speakers at the event encouraged members to be their own advocates by sharing positive information about the farming industry to fellow residents and visitors to Iowa.  Multiple times the Humane Society was mentioned by speakers as a group whose agenda was in conflict with Farm Bureau members.
