More than 50 area residents attended a public forum to discuss the proposed renovation plan for the Washington High School. Superintendent Mike Jorgensen opened the event by stating that the forum was the first of many steps, and the school district “wants this to be a project the community will support.” An exact amount to turn the district’s high school into a renovated middle school has not been calculated, but current estimates place the amount near $11.5 million. Project architect Randy Cram said while higher than the original ICAD projection, the proposed plan includes many additional items that were not calculated at that time. Wednesday’s forum was broadcast live on KCII, and a complete podcast is available online at kciiradio.com under “Radio Plus.”
