The Washington Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire south of highway 92 near Ainsworth yesterday. Washington FD Captain Chad Zear says the station received a report of a burning recycling truck on Spruce Avenue shortly before Noon.  He says by the time fire fighters arrived, an “extensive amount of damage” had already occurred due to a fuel leak that also allowed flames to spread to the adjacent ditch.  Foam was then used to extinguish the recycling truck and no injuries were reported.
