The Mount Pleasant Panthers beat the Demon volleyball team in three games last night. The Panthers were hosting Washington and won 25-13, 25-18, 25-19. Demon Head Coach Jeff Spenner says he felt they had some spots where they played well but mainly they had a hard time defending some of the Panther attacks. For Washington:
Sydney Greiner 9 kills 10 digs
Johanna Vittetoe 5 kills
Kathleen Kennedy 14 assists
Jordan Mellinger 9 digs
As a team the Demons only missed two serves. Now Washington has a lengthy time off in between matches. The Demons will host Eddyville-Blakesburg next Thursday. Also the Demons have learned who they will face in the postseason and it will be a tough road. The girls’ union released the pairings yesterday and Washington will open regional play in Tiffin taking on Clear Creek Amana. The winner of that plays the winner of Davenport Assumtion and number one ranked and defending state champs Mount Vernon.
