“Ballet West 2” of Salt Lake City, Utah, will be holding free performances this weekend in Iowa City and Kalona. The performances are put on by the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium.  Hancher Director Chuck Swanson says the performance center is taking advantage of the time needed to make flood repairs to the venue by holding free performances in cities around southeast Iowa.   Tomorrow at 6 pm, Ballet West 2 will perform seven short pieces “in a range of styles”, including a “world premier” by dance artist Avi Scher in front of the Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City.  Sunday at 6 pm the same performance will be given in Kalona’s Shiloh Amphitheatre.  For more information, visit hancher.uiowa.edu.
