More than 12,000 children have participated in Washington County Conservation Environmental Education Programs. Tuesday Executive Director Steve Anderson told the Washington County Board of Supervisors that Conservation Naturalist Pam Holz “continues to astound” staff members with the number of children participating in educational programs. Anderson says the more than 12,000 children that took advantage of education programs during the last fiscal year is not only more than counties that have multiple naturalists on staff, but “probably ahead of anybody in the state.” The Education Center at Marr Park also had nearly 10,000 visitors during the last fiscal year, and raised more than $5,000 towards the general fund.
