Washington Mayor Sandra Johnson has sworn in a new police officer.
Seth Adam will soon become the 11th officer serving the Washington Police Department. Adam says he’ll graduate from Buena Vista University with a degree in criminal justice, and has been accepted to study at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston from September 7th to December 10th, after which he’ll complete field training with another officer. He’s originally from Washington, but decided he wanted to be a police officer while completing an internship this summer with the Washington Police Department. Adam was sworn in Wednesday during a meeting of the Washington City Council.
