The Washington County Healthy Community Coalition has unveiled two new task forces and complimentary programs to address the health issues of area residents during the next five years. At an unveiling ceremony Thursday, Washington County Public Health Director Chrystal Woller said the new Coalition’s mission is to “promote and foster healthy communities through collaboration and shared responsibility.” Five year goals include helping county residents “achieve and maintain healthy weight” and implement new nutrition and physical activity initiatives. By December 31, 2015, the Washington County Healthy Community Coalition also hopes to reduce teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. For more information, visit washph.com.
