The Demon JV football team lost a close game that went down to the wire last night at Mount Vernon. It was scoreless at halftime, and Washington struck first with a Mitchell Hora 15 yard run for a touchdown. Justin Hoffman completed a pass to Jordan Bell for the two point conversion. Late in the game Washington was down 16-8, and with 33 seconds left Hoffman connected with Hora for a 24 yard touchdown, but the two point conversion was no good and Mount Vernon won 16-14. Hora on the night had 8-carries for 47 yards and Jordan Kay had 9-carries for 37 yards. Defensively, Hora had 8 tackles and Wyatt Shelangoski had 6 tackles. The Demon JV team is now 3-3. The varsity heads to South Tama on Friday.
