It’s homecoming tonight for the Washington Demons as they host the Mount Vernon Mustangs. The Mustangs come in 0-5 and 0-3 in the district. The Demons are 2-3 and 0-3 in the district. Mount Vernon lost to Solon 37-0 last week while the Demons lost to Clear Creek Amana 28-13. Demon Head Coach Randy Shrader says it’s a big game with it being homecoming and the spotlight will be on them tonight. For the Demons, Shrader says they’ve been without fullback Tyler Jaspering who broke his hand against Grinnell. Jaspering played a little the following week against Benton Community and didn’t really play against Clear Creek Amana. Coach Shrader says in his absence they’ve tried a few different kids at the position which has lead to some confusion on the field. Shrader says they’ve tried to simplify some things and they plan on having Jaspering playing tonight, he feels a little more comfortable with the cast now. You’ll be able to hear tonight’s game on the one to count on KCII. We’ll be on the air at 7-pm with the kickoff at 7:30.
