Washington County E911 Services and Communications will hold a joint board meeting Thursday to discuss the status of a search for a new facility. County 911 Supervisor Cara Sorrells says the board will consider the pros and cons of remodeling Washington’s old library versus building a new facility near the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.  The meeting will also discuss Washington County’s $1.50 911 surcharge that will be decided on November’s midterm election ballot.  Sorrells says the surcharge, which is not increasing, is the “only source of funding for E911 Communications” and is “critical to keeping Washington County 9-1-1 operational.”
