The Keokuk County Extension is now offering a program aimed at helping kids pick better food choices.  Shelly Koehn, Keokuk County Extension Youth Coordinator says the Basics program emphasizes better snacks for elementary students, specifically ones they make themselves.  She says the program will be taught at Keokuk County Schools once a month for 30 minutes.  She says the program is all about making kids healthier.  Koehn says the program is also about lowering the obesity rates in the United States.  She will be starting the Basics program with local children on Oct. 6th
