Iowa Governor Chet Culver was in Washington and Fairfield yesterday for his Main Street vs. Wall Street Tour, a 72-stop campaign push for the November 2nd election. At Zagar Plumbing on the Washington Square, Culver told KCII he was “proud of the fact that … Washington was designated a Main Street Iowa Community in 2008” while he was Governor.  Culver said he commends the area’s local business owners and economic development officials “for fighting every single day for [such] a great town.”  Governor Culver visited several area businesses on the square, ending his stop with a speech at the Washington Democratic Headquarters.  Listen this afternoon to the Washington Page at 12:55 during the KCII Midday Magazine for more Culver visit details.
