The Highland Husky football team went down to Elden last night to finish their week three game with Cardinal after lightning postponed it the first time. They picked it up at the start of the third quarter with Cardinal up 10-7. Cardinal would extend their lead to 23-7 and with it 29-15 going into the fourth the Huskies began to come back. Jesse Kleopfer had a couple of long touchdown receptions and he had one in the the first half back in September so he actually finished with three touchdown receptions. Highland managed to fight back and tie the game to force overtime. In overtime the Huskies scored with Skylar Houseal. On Cardinal’s possession, on third down, Jake Tate picked off a pass to seal the win. So Highland won 35-29. Now Highland will go on the road to play Pekin on Friday.
