The Washington Demons found themselves down three touchdowns to South Tama, but rallied to nearly pull off the comeback in the second half. Playing in Tama the two teams traded touchdowns early. Heading in South Tama had a been a spread team that liked to throw the ball, but a different team showed up last night, as the Trojans primarily ran the ball and used play action to set up many of their passes. It was 14-14, but in the second quarter a Demon onside pooch kick went out of bounds and the Trojans used the good starting filed position to put together a touchdown drive. Then an interception set up a touchdown and a fumble recovery set the Trojans up for a 20-yard touchdown pass with seven seconds to go in the half. So it was 35-14 at halftime. The Demons would rally, on their second drive of the half with a 75-yard touchdown pass to Parker Turner from Jake Redlinger. Washington would score again on a 41-yard touchdown pass to Landon Coker from Redlinger. Washington punched it in with an Austin Knupp one yard run but the pat was no good, and South Tama still led 35-34. Washington would have another possession but the Trojans held them as 35-34 was your final. Trojans improve to 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in district play. The Demons fall to 3-4 and 1-4 in district play.
