The Washington Demon football team showed a lot of fight and fire against the Solon Spartans but the Spartans ended up with the lopsided win 43-14 at Case Field in Washington last night. The Demons stopped the Spartans on the game’s opening drive, but after that it became a game where the Spartans didn’t allow the Demons to move the ball much and that set Solon up with good field position throughout. Even when the Demons forced a first half turnover it was a fumble recovery that started them at their one yard line. Solon led 29-0 at halftime. In the second half midway through the third quarter the Spartans would get the continuous with it 36-0. After another touchdown, Washington got a big play as on the kickoff Parker Turner took a return 65 yards to end the third quarter and Jake Redlinger connected with Landon Coker for a 28-yard touchdown pass. Washington would get another touchdown to end the continuous clock but the Spartans got the win 43-14. So Solon remains unbeaten in the district and locks up the district title. The Demons fall to 1-5 in district play and will close out the season hosting Williamsburg next Friday.
