The Washington County Board of Supervisors will meet in special session tonight to vote on the issuance of County general obligation debt to pay for a multimillion dollar secondary roads project. An informational presentation by County Engineer David Patterson is scheduled to begin at 7 pm tonight at the ISU Extension Building in the Washington County Fairgrounds. The presentation will be followed by time allotted for questions and public input. Then at 8 pm, the Washington County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing and vote on a resolution to split the county’s $8 million dollar share of the project over 10 years, with rural residents paying 78% and city residents paying 13% of costs.
