The Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee is meeting today from Noon to 1 pm at the Washington County Hospital and Clinics. Washington County Emergency Manager Larry Smith says the organization’s purpose is “to promote and facilitate the safety of all persons in Washington County,” including the creating and exercising emergency response plans.  Smith says the LEPC also maintains a “current inventory of all hazardous materials” in the county to develop and update a hazard risk analysis.  Groups identified as “key partners” in local emergency response were invited to RSVP to the meeting.
