Washington Mayor Sandra Johnson wants city residents to remember the Fall Cleanup is not for picking up “commercial waste” and other prohibited items. Wednesday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Johnson said she spoke with a representative of Luke’s Waste who said the company’s first year of providing service for Washington’s Fall Cleanup was “going well,” but some items are being left out that are not eligible for pickup. Johnson says “commercial waste”, tires, appliances without stickers and items over 100 pounds will not be hauled away. For more information about Fall Cleanup and a complete listing of eligible items, call City Hall at 653.6584.
