Washington County Supervisors have unanimously shown support for the installation of an automatic, handicap accessible door at the Orchard Hill Complex. Yesterday, County Auditor Bill Fredrick told supervisors he had received correspondence a few months ago that a north side entrance of the complex was difficult for special needs visitors because the door was not self-powered.  Supervisor Wes Rich said the Iowa City School District has previously used grants to pay for handicap door upgrades, and volunteered to research possible grants to save Washington County the $4,400 cost.
